Dear Liv, Hi. I'm an ol' Main Point guy. Saw you and a host of other great performers there.
We've also crossed paths in Sellersville and Edgartown. Just wanted to check in and say your songs and personality remain in my heart. Hope you're doin' fine and havin' many "Carolina Days."

There has to be a way to get you to come to Maryland for a concert/performance. I know you did Rams Head in Annapolis. It sells out quickly. Hmmm... I'll work on it unless others have any ideas... Someplace in Baltimore or Columbia?

Holy crap Liv!! The fact that you exist literally blows me away. I am so pumped that I've stumbled on to you. Man, this is crazy. Just when you thought you knew everything. There probably aren't many JT songs that I don't know, longtime fan and your right, he handles fame in stride. Your guitar playing is amazing Liv and has inspired me to get back at it. Just got back from the CF Martin plant in Nazereth with a new 00-45s, and I'm about to put some more miles on it. I'm so glad our paths have crossed even if it is through this means. Anyway, take care man.

Hi Liv, Our family first saw you live @ Nantucket High school in 1995. South shore Living Magazine had a picture and announced your concert at the conservatory in their recent issue, which I read about Thursday I quickly called and purchased tickets. Thanks to our gps we found this neet place in Hingham. You were great! We met some old friends and new. We hope to see you again. So now we know your web site we'll check. We were in Nantucket in June, and one of the few pictures we took was me standing in front of the Methodist church. The building is an awsome structure, and I've been a member of UMC for 34 years. I wish we could be there in August. But I'll be @ the Hyannis Sheridan on the 15th for a conference.
We flew to nantucket for the first time it was a great flight. See ya soon,

My family and I caught your show at the Guilderland High School Auditorium. I too was glad that the concert was indoors. It was terrific. Your shows are always so entertaining. I remember seeing you at a concert at SUNY Geneseo around 1978-79 (if my memory serves me right!!). I really enjoyed your concert then. I'm lucky that I have watched your concerts when you have been in the capital district area. I hope you come back to this area very soon!

You have been one of my favorite musicians over the years. I grew up in the East and first heard you as a teenager at Drew University in Madison, NJ. My husband and I moved to a small farming community in SE Kansas 16 years ago to pastor a church. My sister gave me your most recent CD and it is a comfort to hear your music and songs. Do you ever travel to the midwest for concerts? I grew up summers in Montauk, Long Island and we still come back every summer, just not this summer. I saw you were having a concert in Chatham, NJ, close to where I grew up. God bless you!

Liv, I was sorry to hear of Artie Traum's passing. That is a huge loss for all of us. What a wonderful man!!!
Last year I got to hear him sit in with you at the Woodstock Playhouse and it was one of my favorite shows. He and I were talking before the show and I know how happy he was to join you on stage!!!
I was fortunate enough to get a few pictures of you both and wondered if you would like to have any of them. If so drop me an email which is attached to this comment form.
Thanks for years of great music and shows!!! I'm looking forward to the next show and CD.

We truly enjoyed your concert in Springfield last night. You won't remember, but you signed our copy of your new CD (cowboy hat, pretty wife and daughter, posed for photo with me). My son and daughter grew up listening to me playing my guitar and singing songs by you and James. My daughter and her boyfreind knew what fans we are so they made sure we knew you were coming in. They're fans too. Anyway, just wanted you to know how much we appreciate your talents and showmanship.

Remember we sang "City Lights" together at the Congregational Church in Coral Gables (Miami) Fl.?

Hey. I found a beautiful song of Liv's "There you are again", performed live (as a download on his site, which, incidentally I subsequently lost), and it has to be my favourite song of all time.
I bought the CD "There you are again", and was so disappointed by the C.D. version of "There you are again". Is it possible someone could put it back on-line, or send me a copy. I'll contact the world and let them know it's out there.
Take good care.

My wife and I feel that your Saturday night concert in Lancaster was one of the finest and most enjoyable (of any and all artists) we have ever attended. True, we don't get out much, but the show was honest, sincere, exciting, inspirational, humorous, moving . . . just an amazing experience for us! For me it was the seond time our path's had crossed in almost 40 years, as I had had the good fortune to hear you in late 1970 or early '71 at Kent State University. There were three acts that night and I believe you opened for Cactus, and Emerson, Lake and Palmer. There are several pictures from your set that made the Kent State yearbook that year. I'd be happy to scan them if you'd like them for your archives. We hope to hear you again but much sooner this time. Thanks for an evening we'll never forget.

While doing some yard sales up here in the North country, a home owner was selling their huge collection of LPs. While I was looking through them, imagine my surprise when a huge squeal came out my mouth ( my husband came over to see what was important enough for me to drop my usual sedate decorum ) ...there was your album, Livingston Taylor, circa 1970.
I listened to it this morning and I loved it!

My husband and I loved your recent concert in Holly Springs, NC. The last time I saw you perform was in downtown Chapel Hill in the spring of 1978. You've only gotten better!
After you mentioned your book, I tracked it down using our inter-library loan system here in Wake County. To my delight, the copy I received came from UNC-Chapel Hill's library. I really enjoyed your book and wish it were still in print to help other aspiring performers. Have you considered using a print-on-demand service, such as Lulu.com, Blurb or Amazon's Booksurge, to keep your book in print?
And, one final memory to share: Last summer (August 2008), my husband and I spent three weeks in Italy. While shopping at the Italian Motor Club's retail store in Milan for road maps, a familiar voice filled the air. James Taylor was singing *You've Got A Friend.* While eating dinner later in a Venice restaurant, N.C. beach music was filling the air. It's funny how music fills your heart and takes you home, no matter where you are.

Hi Livingston,
I grew up in Lake Forest (private)and I spent my summers in Door County Wisconsin and my Best friends The "Rentschler Family" spent theirs on the Vineyard. In Manitowoc, WI. you invited my daughter to sing "Heart & Soul" with you on stage. Just came back from visiting her in Arizona and she had the ticket still with her and framed for the show. Was in Washington DC in 1971 and saw you at if my recollection is correct Catholic University and a # of times in Chicago. You are a year ahead of me so I have followed your career for many years and you are a wonderful man and artist. Thanks so much. I've been to a few of your shows and I love your music. The one thing that I can't figure out is how James has gained such commercial success and the brother with the better voice isn't as well known. Sorry James, Love you too but even though the voices are so similar, Livingston has a quality that in my opinion is a step up. Keep making your beautiful music!

Livingston in a cute bunny costume sang "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" Hope I'm not too late for tickets. Not to mention drive around the corner to hear some great vocals .... Thank You!

We had the pleasure of seeing Liv on Saturday 17March2008 in Holly Springs. Because of being on his mailing list, we actually knew about the concert before it was listed on the venue's ticket site. That meant that we were ready to go and snagged the first 3 tickets sold right in the front row when they went on sale (next to the reserved seat for the Mayor :-) We thoroughly enjoyed it, we heard some of our favorites that we hadn't heard Liv do in person before, and we hope that he was as energized by the performance as we all were. And it is fantastic to see a performer who takes the time and effort to meet with everyone after the gig. I love that I was able to get a signed copy of "Unsolicited Material" (my favorite) as well as a photo with Liv -- it was much appreciated! Best wishes to you,

I am 30 min west of the Lakeside Ohio..
Ive just finished reading the notes on the Making of "There You Are Again" I laughed then I cried then I laughed harder. and the whole time I was amazed at the thoughts, the work and the luck that goes into your music. Oh If I could only be a Shadow on the Wall. I dont see a Lakeside Concert this year. What about a Cain Park Concert? When your Head hits the pillow tonight just think about a 52 year young guy in Ohio that would love to trade places with you. except during the writing of "I wish I were a Cowboy" I got my own troubles.. Thanks for your gift of music....

Liv-
I have your book on performing--which is great and have been a fan for years.
Might you post tabs for a few more of your songs? I'd love LIFE IS GOOD, I'M GLAD I KNOW YOU WELL, CITY LIGHTS and more but don't want to be too greedy. Just want more of your observations in my life.
Peace

I have seen you twice, both in the eighties. I fell in love. I know that you have probably lived in your brothers shadow your whole life but know this, you are just as talented. Much of ones success depends not so much about their talent, as more right time, right place, fate. I love your brother too but your both very uniquely different and special in styles. Thank you for staying true to your love and giving the rest of us a taste of your talent. Jill Koerner

I was swept away by your amazing talent, humor, and warmth. I became quite caught up in the emotions you created in our intimate venue. You made me want to simultaneously run away with you, and yet want to be a better wife to my loving husband. It was a glorious evening, and resonates with me still. Thank you!

Ditto to Dave. I am a old/newcomer to your music, and I was so pleased to have seen you last night. You are so enjoyable to listen to, both musically and personally on stage. I especially like that you leave the protest songs to others infavor of promoting the preciousness of life. I will be sure to see you the next time you are in town.

Liv, many years ago, my family and I were walking through the National Zoo in Washington, DC, when my bestfriend, Christine and I recogonized your voice coming from a large field. When we peeked over the wall, there you were! Needless to say, the family and kids went on to see the animals, but, we stayed to hear your wonderful singing! Since then, I have seen you perform in Frederick, MD and LOVED your fun show. When will you be returning to Maryland???

Mr. Taylor, I've seen you in concert several times & you always leave me smiling, tapping my feet, & shouting for "more!"
You & I have a "6 degree" link: Rory Block (she is my ex sister in law). Anyways, I love the fotos of Ecuador. But next time you plan to go please contact me first! My husband is from Ecuador & we own a house there. You'd be an honored & much welcomed guest (as well as honorary member of his very large family!).

Hey Liv,
I was working a help desk job about 13 years ago when the web first started and I stumbled upon your website. Saw the great photos of you and your dog in the plane! I remember emailing you telling about an amazing concert I saw you give at Villanova U with Jonathan edwards, Pat Algar and Marty Traum. I remember asking if your Golden had his Instrument rating..... Well it was a sunday morning and I remember looking down and seeing an email from you not 10 minutes later. (Wow if only it was still that easy) No you said he is all paws! Ive been listening for close to 30 years and I am looking forward to many more.

Mr Taylor,
Thank you for entertaining us. What fun we had. We are still cracking ourselves up after you allowed us to shamelessly hold court in front of the concession stand at the Colonial on Saturday night. You were gracious and kind to us as we "hung with the band" so to speak. Hope the hydrangea wasn't too forward of an expression of our adoration - our hearts on our sleeves! (I nailed the timing, I need to work on my aim).
Your performance was stellar and we promise to be front and center when you return to the Philadelphia area.
your friends,
Sue and Sue
PS If you need a fine example of a couple of groupies for the course that you teach we would be happy to share our 20+ years of experience with the class.

Liv-You were outstanding in Phoenixville on Saturday night! I traveled 3 hours from my home near Pittsburgh, PA to State College, PA, picked up my sister and traveled another 3 hours to Phoenixville to meet up with another sister and cousin! What a treat to have you hold the theater doors open for us as we arrived and then sign our CD's after you performance. Your gentle style, infectious optimism and true talent shine through each time I see you perform. What a gentleman and superb musician you are. Thanks
